Day tours – A relaxing day out with people of similar ability, from complete beginners to more experienced kayakers wanting the opportunity to be guided by us knowing that we have years of experience of the area’s coastline.
Introductory – Learn to sea kayak in the most spectacular location on this planet. We offer single and multi day courses to introduce those who have never been sea kayaking before and can include a short expedition at the end of this. Dates already scheduled include 20th-21st June, 26th Aug. See here for more.
Improver Courses – for different abilities. With Skye having such a varied coastline, you can develop your skills, knowing we will find the best conditions appropriate to your needs. Dates already scheduled include 17th-19th July (now full) and 26th, 27th and 29th July but there are more, so please ask and check our dates section.
Expeditions – this is where sea kayaking comes into its own, allowing you to explore places inaccessible by other means. We run two different kinds of expedition. Camping where we are self sufficient exploring our coastline by kayak & foot and boat-based on the MV Cuma of Island Cruising – new this year is a trip to the Southern Hebrides as well as two to St Kilda but not many spaces left so …book soon! Photography Course with Angus Mackie of Scotland360 Photography. 12th-14th Sept.
This course offers a unique blend of practical instruction in photography both on and off the water, as well as tailored sea kayak coaching from Gordon Brown, the UK’s foremost sea kayak coach.
No technical photography skills are required; this is a course for participants to produce great results from their cameras whilst sea kayaking and to get the best out of their own photography. However if photography is your first love the course will cater for you looking at techniques & equipment suitable on the water. See 2016 info & images from 2015 here.
Safety on and off the Water – A more in-depth course aimed at increasing your awareness of all things related to safety whilst afloat and ashore. Starting in our purpose-built classroom and using the amazing coastline of Skye, these two-day courses will prepare you for most eventualities. The ‘alternative’ incident management course. 24th-25th April aimed at approximately 4 star sea level, more dates to follow.
Greenland Skills Course – Learn some new skills or develop existing ones on this unique course. Rowland Woollven will be delivering a range of Greenland paddling skills including rolling. Dates: 28th and 29th May: Introduction to Greenland paddling and 30th May: Developing Greenland skills.
Women only Courses – Recognising that some women like to learn in an all female environment, we offer courses at all levels throughout the year.
