Rowland Woollven

Rowland is a British Canoe Union Level 5 Sea Kayak Coach, specialising in individual and small group sea kayak coaching and guided tours in the Oban area and on the west coast of Scotland.

Currently in his 50th year of paddling, Rowland now concentrates mainly on the sea, and has expedition experience in Canada, Alaska, Norway and France and in 2012 completed the circumnavigation of Great Britain, becoming the oldest person so far, the first to do it with a Greenland-style paddle and only the 19th person to complete.  He is also a BCU Level 3 Surf Coach, and a member of the WEMSI-International teaching faculty presenting Wilderness First Responder and Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician courses across Europe.   He is the author of ‘Sticking With It – A Sea Kayak Odyssey Around Britain’.
